International Medical School Bangalore Campus, India

The MSU International Medical School is a unique-regional collaborative effort between the Management & Science University (MSU), Malaysia and the Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), Bangalore. IMS offers undergraduate programme leading to the MBBS degree pursued at the GEF (M) campus in Bangalore. It is an off-shore programme conducted in accordance with the curriculum approved by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).


Gokula Education Foundation and IMS, MSU

  1. 1962 Sri MS Ramaiah founded Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) with a mission "To deliver education and health for the betterment of mankind".


  2. GEF has established a number of institutions to cater to the needs of various segments of education like Medical Sciences, Engineering, Indology Arts, Science, Law and Management. MS Ramaiah Institutions are well known throughout India and abroad.


  3. GEF has under its umbrella 19 institutions on the MSR campus.


  4. MSR Campus is located on a sprawling 70 acre site and it is dedicated to the cause of learning.


  5. The campus is located seven kilometers from the city centre and it has provision for over a thousand students with facilities and hostels rooms to handle education right from nursery to post graduation.


  6. The world-renowned Indian Institute of Science flanks the campus in the south, National Institute of Advanced Studies in the west, Central Power Research Institute and Indian Space Research Organization in the east.


  7. Affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, M.S. Ramaiah Medical College was established in 1979 with an approved intake of 150 undegraduates, 100 postgraduates and 10 super specialty courses like DM and MCH.

  8. There are two attached hospitals with bed strength of 1200. It is the first medical college in the world to receive the ISO 900 certification by TUV, Rhineland, Germany.

IMS with its partners (GEF and MSU) is a premier academic medical school in the region known for its excellent education, innovative teaching methodology and outstanding clinical programs and dedication to community service. The collaborative venture improves bilateral arrangement between Malaysian and Indian governments in the field of education and is a positive step towards internalization of Malaysian education.


The students admitted at MSU, Malaysia, undergo training in a Malaysian Medical Council approved curriculum. Under this unique arrangement a Malaysian medical qualification will be conferred to students who have successfully completed the MBBS programme at MSU's offshore campus in Bangalore.
